GhostPass / Platform Basics

Platform Basics

What is GhostPass?

GhostPass is a digital admission and pass-management platform built for haunted attractions. Attractions can issue passes, validate guests at the entrance, track admissions, and manage access from one system.

How does a GhostPass work?

When a pass is issued, GhostPass creates a unique pass code and personalized validation link. At the attraction, staff scan the guest's code or enter it manually, GhostPass checks the pass, and staff confirm admission.

Is GhostPass only for haunted houses?

Haunted attractions are the primary focus. That includes haunted houses, haunted trails, farms, scream parks, multi-attraction events, and similar seasonal horror experiences.

Can GhostPass support more than one attraction?

Yes. GhostPass is designed so participating attractions can operate independently rather than sharing one giant admission list.

Does GhostPass replace our existing ticketing system?

Not necessarily. GhostPass can focus on passes, access, and validation while an attraction continues using its existing ticketing or point-of-sale system where appropriate.

At the Ticket Booth

What happens when a pass is scanned?

GhostPass checks the pass and displays its current status. Staff can then confirm admission. Once admitted, the event is recorded so later scans can show that the pass has already been used when its admission limit has been reached.

What if we don't have a barcode or QR scanner?

No scanner is required. Staff can manually enter the guest's pass code at ghostpass.app/validate. A phone, tablet, laptop, or ticket-booth computer can handle the basic workflow.

What if a guest's phone won't scan?

Staff can type the code printed with the pass and perform the same validation check. A cracked screen, dim display, or stubborn scanner does not have to stop the line.

Does GhostPass require special hardware?

No. GhostPass is web-based and is intended to work with common internet-connected devices. Compatible scanning hardware can also be incorporated into the booth workflow.

What does ticket-booth staff actually do?

The basic flow is simple: guest arrives → scan or enter code → GhostPass validates → staff confirms admission → admission is recorded.

GhostPass / Validation & Security

Validation & Security

What prevents somebody from copying a pass?

A screenshot or copied code is not automatically treated as a fresh admission. GhostPass checks the pass against its current record during validation. Once the permitted admission has been recorded, later attempts can be identified as previously used.

Can multiple employees validate passes?

GhostPass can support different staff access levels so booth or scanning personnel can receive the access they need without every employee requiring full administrative control.

Can we see when a guest was admitted?

Admission activity can be recorded by GhostPass, giving authorized attraction staff an activity trail for successful admissions and rejected attempts.

What happens if a pass is scanned twice?

If the pass has reached its admission limit, GhostPass can warn staff that it has already been used instead of silently accepting the same pass again.

GhostPass / Guests & Passes

Guests & Passes

Do guests need a GhostPass account?

Not for every interaction. GhostPass is designed to keep admission simple and avoid unnecessary account creation. Account features can be used where a guest needs to manage or recover information associated with their passes.

What happens if someone loses an unlock or recovery code?

GhostPass includes recovery workflows that verify information associated with the original record and can issue temporary recovery codes without depending on unreliable server-generated email.

Does GhostPass email passwords or sensitive codes?

GhostPass does not need to email passwords. Recovery and verification workflows can use on-screen codes and verification steps rather than depending on server mail() delivery.

What is the difference between Standard and VIP passes?

Standard passes provide regular GhostPass admission access, while VIP passes can support upgraded or priority admission programs. The exact benefits attached to each pass are determined by the participating attraction.

Can an attraction offer passes for an entire haunt season?

Yes. GhostPass is being designed around the seasonal nature of haunted attractions, including programs that can operate across multiple weeks instead of requiring a separate pass for every night.

GhostPass / Demo & Getting Started

Demo & Getting Started

Can we try GhostPass before using it?

Yes. The interactive demo lets an attraction operator issue a sample pass, simulate scanning it, validate it, admit the guest, scan it again to see duplicate-use protection, and review the admission activity.

Does the demo touch real customer data?

No. The interactive demo uses its own isolated demo tables and does not modify live GhostPass passes, admissions, contact tickets, or customer records.

How can my attraction get GhostPass?

Attractions interested in GhostPass can use the contact system to discuss access, pricing, partnerships, and their admission workflow.

Run the gate yourself.

Issue a demo pass, simulate the guest scan, validate admission, admit the guest, and then scan the same pass again to see how GhostPass handles repeat use.
